Non-SAP Reporting Tools for Commissions Data

Hi - I am curious what tool other customers use for Sales/Compensation reporting if they are not using the included SAP Comissions reporting tools (Crystal/Webi/Embedded Analytics/Thuderbridge).

At Fidelity, we use a lot of hyperlinks so users can see what they are being paid and then can drill down into the details of the calculation.

From my research, most business intelligence tools (Power BI, Tableau) are geared towards data analysts. The additional functionality makes it hard for sales associates to use the reporting without any training.

PDFs are easy to use, but aren't flexible enough to show/hide details.

What tools are others using?

We do use Embedded Analytics for sales compensation reporting; there are only few reports built into the EA for administrators. We haven't built any EA reports for end users or for leaders of people. End users use the dashboard to look at the compensation they received. We do have other analytical or business intelligence tool but we dont have SAP Commission/Callidus data on them, yet. We went live only last year, so not a whole lot of EA report usage. And, moreover EA is very unstable; lately there has been some or other issues in the EA system on a monthly basis, so we are trying to get that stablized before thinking of using it widely.

@c_mouly Great info thanks! For us, dashboards probably don't fit all our needs, but that is a good option for drill downs.
