noHelpMode and readCatalogue Parameters

Can these parameters only be used to suppress the help content check at the time the page is loaded and defer it until the user clicks on the Help button for SuccessFactors or will this work in Companion (Web Assistant) for other SAP S4 HANA Fiori apps? Also, is there also a way to do this in Companion for Desktop Assistant for MDG apps?

This would be a great way to mitigate performance issues should they arise.

Please advise.

Yes, readCatalogue=false also works with S/4 (but as I'm sure you've discovered, you also need noHelpMode=carousel (or =nothing, but definitely not =hidebutton)).

For SAP Companion for Desktop no - you always want it to be running, and it will need to do the authorization check for that. It starts minimized (to icons, not to the grab-bar) so it's minimally intrusive anyway - assuming Show Only Sidebar on Start is selected in the Playback Settings
