New employee number range in between of other ranges

Hi Experts,

is it possible to create a new employee number range with lower numbers than already in use?

For example: Let's say we use several number ranges and the last number in the system is 920.000 at the moment. Now we have a gap in between and would like to use that for a new range: 200.000 to 299.999. As long as there is no overlapping, this should be feasible, right?

If yes, do we have to keep something in mind (besides of defining another range as soon as this one is completely used up)?

Many Thanks and regards!

Dear agressmann,

Yes, it is possible as long as the number has not been used.

The ideal would be to create a new sequence and assign the rule. The important thing is to have control, because if the range number reaches the first one already used in the old sequence, it will not allow you to complete the hire process.

Once all the "gap" numbers have been consumed, you can return to the old sequence.

I hope this helps!

Thank you.

Best Regards,
