Hi,
When performing translations by exporting & importing translation files, each exported file will be named "translate.xlf".
Is there a way to adapt this, that it will receive another name (project name, UID, ...)?
Also, you can only export the translation file for one individual object at a time, if you select multiple objects, you do not have the "Localisation" option in the menu. Is this a limitation or is there another way to achieve this?
Best regards
Leopold

Hi Leopold,
the filenames for translating files will be improvet with the upcoming 2111 release, see Whats New document:
Object Names in File Names for Translations (Login with your s-user on help.sap.com is required to read the document)
Here what it says:
To better manage translation files, the generated file names can now contain the object names in addition to the object ID during the export. This makes it easier to map an XLIFF or Microsoft Word file to a specific object. To insert the object names in the file names, the option Insert Object Name in File Name can be activated when exporting the translation files. For example, a translate_GR_B26A82EF6B44C685.xlf file now displays the name as follows: Creating a user_GR_B26A82EF6B44C685.xlf"
To your second question, the export of multiple translation files is possible. But the projects needs to be in the same group, and for every item located in that group a translation file will be created unless you enable the "Export as One File" option in the Export dialog. Then all items are in one and the same translation file.
A selection of just some items within a group is not possible as I know.
You can read more about exporting translation file in the Producer Manual:
Hope that helps,
Best regards, Michael
