Name in Employee Profile and Employee Directory not in sync

Hi Expert,

Need advise.

Employee last name appears different in Employee Profile and Employee Directory ( name in search tab).

Issue: Employee last name ( eg JOHNSON) entered during hiring was incorrect , hence later admin corrected the employee last name to ( JOHNSONS) .

In Employee profile the last name is reflecting correctly as JOHNSONS however in search tab the employee is still appearing as JOHNSON .

Please explain how this needs to be synced.

We have found that the name may be different in the Profile area that comes from Recruiting no matter how the Personal Information data is entered. To trick system/correct, in the Personal Information portlet, add a row with new date and make a "fake" change with new (i.e. adding a letter to last name). Then insert another row with another date and make the name correctly for all fields. Refresh browser. If changes appear in search and personal and profile area; delete the "fake" row in the Personal information.

If you have enabled Name Format (in Manager Employee Central Settings), please check if field formal-name in Personal Information has been enabled.
