Hi, I was wandering if anyone could advise how they manage Name Format for their Spanish/Portugese employees? Generally employees like to use one surname in their email address but need their full surname for legal purposes in the Kast name field. At the moment we are using one surname until the email address has created then going back to the Profile and changing the last name field to the correct legal full name. I was wandering how other comanies may be managing this?
Well that mainly depends on who makes the email address. If it is IT and you use separate fields for every part of the name, it is just something to resolve in the interface (by selecting a different combo of fields potentially).
The last name field should always contain the last name as it should be written (as you can see it throughout the entire system, especially if you don't have the universal display name used). I commonly write a business rule that picks the right setup based on the name format code which then populates the last name and that helps unify the correct name throughout the whole system.
