Multiple Employee Central Profiles for a Rehired teammate

A teammate who already existed in the system was rehired through ONB and the Manage Pending Hire module. During the rehire action it created a new profile but states that "No Data Maintained". This profile will not replicate to ECP. Has anyone every experienced this? If so is there a way to combine the profiles or get rid of the new one created in error?

If you choose Rehire with New employment in th emanage penging hire, then a new userId is created .
But the old profile and new profile are linked through the personIdExternal.

But if you ignored the match in the Manage Pending hire and created/hired auser as new the you can still correct the data using import.

You may have to export the current employee profile active and inactive and purge the not required one.

Then update the new data as rehire . You can select it while importing the data in the system.
