I have a QRG format using book pages and an ILT book format. I'd like to create two separate compound formats. One with a title page and one without. How is this done. I've tried to copy and paste inside the Document Styles, but it doesn't allow me to paste and make another format.

Hi Linda,

If you want to generate two different Compound Document formats, you will need to:

1. In Producer, click on the Resources > Adaptable Resources > Documentation Style object
2. Start Editing the object
3. Double click an existing Microsoft Word template to open it and use Save As to save it with a new name. Make sure that you remember where you saved it because you have to reimport it
4. Modify the template, e.g. add or remove the cover page
5. After setting up the Word template, right click the Documentation Style object and choose Import File
6. Import the new Word template
7. Open the Resources > Documentation Settings area
8. Duplicate the existing Compound Document settings to create a new version
9. Make sure that the Template field points to the new Word template that you just loaded into the Documentation Styles area of settings
10. Adjust the other Documentation Settings values, if necessary

That should do the trick. Make sure that you synchronize the new Documentation Settings and updated Documentation Style object to Manager so that other authors can also generate the two different versions of the documentation.

Regards
Shane
