Dear Community,
I'm having trouble generating documentation in Producer. Each attempt to create a Ms Word or PDF document in the simulation ends with an error as attached.
I tried on different Office. Same error every time.
Have you encountered a similar case while working with the SEN tool?
Last year the problem was reported on the Community
https://answers.sap.com/questions/13565301/microsoft-word-initialization-failed.html
but there was no definitive diagnosis.
Kind regards
Raphael

Hi Raphael,
If it is still occurring, raise a support ticket using the Component ID KM-SEN-PRO. Someone from the support team will then be able to take a look and see if they can resolve the issue.

Hi Raphael,
Yes it may be an issue with your Resources. If the generation of documentation is working on multiple other PCs, it's unlikely that a Resource is missing, i.e. available in just one PC, but your Resources may be out of date.
You could try the following steps on the PC with the issue:
1. Open Producer
2. Right click the Resources object and select Server Bulk Actions > Update All Object from Server
3. Download any missing Resources and ensure that all Resources are up to date
4. Try generating the documentation again

If you work in VDI like Citrix, you may not have MS Word installed in that environment. So that may be reason for this error. You can run the producer in your environment and try to generate documents from there.
If you work in your environment and still facing this error, there are 3 reasons.
* MS Word is not installed
* MS Word is not licensed
* MS Word is not updated
Additional tip: Updating my windows helped me to overcome this error sometimes.

Hi Raphael,
Can you please confirm that you have one of the supported versions of Microsoft Office installed on your PC, see the image below.

If you do have some of the support Office versions, try opening Word manually to see if it is looking for a license key or requires setup. The error message seems to indicate that there is an issue opening Word on your PC.

Thank you for your interest Shane,
it seems that everything is as it should be. I tried installing different versions of Office and it didn't help either.
Could the problem be due to incorrect individual settings?
Other users don't have the problem. When I log in to another user's workstation, the problem does not occur either.
