Localization of simulations in SAP Companion

Hi,

I have a question regarding  the localization of simulations in SAP Companion.

I have both recorded simulations in English and in French relating to the same processes, and also set the appropriate language flags relating to the simulation’s languages.

In the Learning section of SAP Companion, when my FIORI interface is in English, I only see the English simulations, the French content is hidden, so in this case everything works fine.

Nevertheless, when I switch the UI to French, I see both English and French simulations, so the English content is not hidden in this case.

Is there something I could have forget to set?

Hi Emmanuel,

The issue that you are experiencing is a feature of SAP Companion.  SAP Companion has the concept of a Fallback Language.  The idea behind a Fallback Language is that if content is available in the application language, in this case French, then the French content is shown.  If the content is not available in French, the content in the Fallback Language is shown.  In the case of French, it seems like the default is to display English.

I think you have potentially two options to resolve this issue:

1. Modify the Fallback Language using SAP Companion parameters to change the Fallback Language for French so that English is no longer the Fallback Language for French.  Refer to the Fallback Language section in the SAP Companion Integration Guide
Fallback Language.png2. In Enable Now, if you were to have duplicated an original Simulation and then translated it or re-recorded the content in another language, the two Simulations would be identified as being the same content object.  In that case, SAP Companion would not display the English version of a Simulation because it would recognize the French version as being the same content.  To fix this issue, you could try updating the Duplication Source field on each French Simulation by selecting the English version of that Simulation.  That way, SAP Companion would know that the English object should not be shown because the French object was the same content

Hope that helps.
