Hi all, I'm hoping to draw on some other customers' expertise and experiences when it comes to all things job codes/roles/profiles and the relationships between them, and to check my understanding.
We currently have JBP enabled, although our set up is certainly not optimal. We went live with EC and Recruiting earlier this year and it was very much a lift-and-shift from our old system. As things stand, we have a 1:1 relationship between job code, job role and job profile (with the job profile just being a 'skeleton' record for each role, not with properly crafted content, competencies, skills etc.)
Am I right in thinking that multiple job codes can be associated to one job role (and therefore one job profile), so for example, we could have ten job codes (with the employees' existing job titles - let's say "Sales Assistant, Menswear", "Storeroom Assistant, Nights", "Sales Assistant, Kids" etc.) which could then be associated to one Role, e.g. "Store Assistant". Then that Role could have a Job Profile created for it, which we can then link skills and competencies to.
We currently have a few projects underway which rely on having a solid job architecture foundation, so I'm just trying to get my head round what this could potentially look like. Any input or experiences would be very well received!

Hello @jackoneill23 ,
Assuming you will have the meat (Job Description, competencies, etc) added to your skeleton (Job Profiles), it means that when you create a Requisition from Position with job codes maintained, the job code will travel from Position to Requisition and hence load the Job Role (hence Job Profiles) that is associated with the Job Code
Now, a question to you is that do you foresee that Storeroom Assistant has the exact same Job Profile (JD, etc) as Sales Assistant? From a layman’s perspective they likely do no as Storeroom Asst may involve picking/packing/inventory type descriptions while Sales Assistant involves sales, customer service etc
Thus, you should avoid mapping 1 Job Code to multiple Job Roles emcompassing Sales and Storeroom assistants
In fact, you should have as many JPB Job Roles and hence Job Profiles as there are EC job codes, as a 1:1 to give maximum number of JPB Job Roles possible
The idea is that if someone determines to have a EC Job Code, surely there must be something different (could be JD, competencies, etc) about this Job Code vis a vis the others.
