Is Workflow possible to be created entirely through Configuration or needs xml changes also?

Dear Consultants,

For Workflow creation for Data change (Work Permit) and standard alerts,is it still mandatory to include/import changes in the Rule dtd file too? My customer has a simple requirement of Triggering workflow for Work Permit Data changes,however,approval will close for 4 out of 5 locations,but for 1 location,it will throw an alert to approver.

As we dont have Provisioning access ,but want to see whether its possible within MDF entirely.

Looking for this guidance,urgently.

Dear Indrababu,

There is not need to change anything in the XML or dtd file, you just need to create the rule workflow under Manage Organization, Pay and Job Structures, and after create the Business Rule, under Configure Business Rules. Attached a simple example of a rule for work permit workflow where the change is initiated by the employee.
