Is there a way to create a copy of similar objects for different Channels in Advanced Workflows ?

Similar to recreating a rule by editing the .xml export and reuploading the modified .xml file for a similar plan or configuration in Commissions module, is there a way to achieve the same for Reusable forms, Custom tables etc. in Advanced Workflows?

Currently, we are able to download a .wfb file which is not editable.

If there is a workaround to recreating custom objects, that would be a real time saver!

Please advise.

Hi,

In Advanced Workflow, there is Migration Manager (go to Setup -> Administration - Migration Manager). It allows you to export data and to import it back. So, you can export an entity from one tenant and import it into another tenant. This works for custom fields, custom tables, users, workflows, and much more.

Migration Manager is working with .wfb format mainly (WorkFlow Backup format) and these files are encrypted (not human readable). The reason for this is to make data inside more secure.

Once you upload a file for upload, you can have a 'File Preview' option to check which objects are inside the file.

This feature is planned to be used for backups (like when you model something, and you want to try some changes, so you create backup, then you try new idea, and in case you need to revert something, you can simply restore old version). Also, it is made for doing backup-restore between tenants (for example from Sandbox tenant to migrate something to production).

If you wish inside one tenant to create a similar object, then for custom fields you can use 'Clone' option and for entire workflows you can use 'Copy' option.

The idea of adding new features of 'Clone' for other objects, like Reusable Forms and Custom Actions sounds as interesting improvement to Workflow application. We will review it and see if we can add it into the road map for this year.

Please inform us if you feel you could need 'clone' for any other entity?
