Hello,
Sorry if the question is pretty basic but we'd like to be sure about it. I would like to know if the simulation feature allow us to record videos or is it only to record clicking step by step processes ? I tried with the Generate Video Screencast tool but it is only recording the clicking step by step process.
Thank you very much and have a nice day.
Irina

Hi Irina,
You do not have to apologize. Your question is very welcome in our community.
And you are right, the producer does not acting like a known screen recorder. Its designed for creating the step by step instructions.
The function "Generate Video" out of a recorded simulation, changes just the output format from HTML to an MP4 file, to give you the flexibility to upload your step by step instruction also to a Video Platform if needed.
If you need a (external) screen recording in your content library or book pages you can import this as a media file to the Producer. Just clicking on the yellow + sign within your producer and click on "Media Object"
Hope that answer help you - if so please accept this answer 🙂
All the best, Michael

Thanks a lot that was very clear 🙂
Have a nice day.
A quick add-on to Michael's reply: If you do use the Generate Video feature, it effectively runs through Demo mode and captures that as an .mp4 file (which you have to save outside of SAP Enable Now - it doesn't add it as an 'asset' to the simulation (like the generated documents are)). Demo mode can pause - if the Display Duration is set to -1 (most notably by default for Explanation Bubbles), which obviously you don't want in a video. So to work around this, the number of seconds it should wait before continuing automatically can be set in Playback Settings > General > Video. It defaults to 8 seconds. Just FYI.
Hi Irina,
Michael is right, but there is also a way to create a video of your screen with the Producer, not sure if you meant this.
When you start the recording, select Quick Recording and then Record Screencast Video.

This will record all your mouse movements, too, not only the clicks and text inputs.
Then when you go to Generate Video, you get a choice to create a screencast video.

The screencast video now includes your screen recording without step by step instructions.
Hope this helps and take care,
Kristina
