I believe what my colleague wants is to delay the appearance of the text bubble, so it appears after text to speech has began its explanation and it is timed with words that are in the text bubble.
Simply can you control when the demo (text) bubble comes on the screen?
If not, is there a workaround or can you trick it?

No, not possible. Audio will start automatically. You could maybe looking into rigging up some prior macro in the same step that does nothing and displays nothing (not sure what, as AFK and can't test) but has a Display Duration of a second or two, as audio will start with the Step not the macro.
