Implication of Bulk Change in simulations

Hi,
I need to anonymize a specified screen area in many simulations. But my doubt is how does the bulk change impact ? Whether the changes are reflected only within the group (containing simulations) or the whole workarea ?

Hi Mani,

OK, so you are referring to cropping not anonymization. The Bulk Changes menu option is only available from inside a Simulation; that is, you must open the Simulation to access that item. As soon as you return to the Explorer view of Producer, the menu item is no longer available. So, the Bulk Changes > Auto Crop function will only apply to the one Simulation that is open at the time that the function is run.

Are you really looking to change the cropping marks on Simulations screen to alter the size of images included in documentation?

Regards
Shane

Hi Mani,

Bulk changes in general apply to all child objects of the selected Group object. Unfortunately there is no currently bulk option to anonymize Simulation screens for multiple Simulations simultaneously. There is a feature on the Enable Now Roadmap for the next release that relates to screen anonymization but I think this is about allowing authors to anonymize multiple parts of the screen in one go, not anonymizing multiple Simulation simultaneously. At present, you will need to open each Simulation separately, select the Steps that you want to anonymize and then select Tools > Bulk Changes > Anonymize Screen Area. Draw the red rectangle on the part of the screen to be anonymized and click the green tick. All selected screens will be updated.

Thanks for the reply Shane. But when I did Tools ---> Bulk Change ---> Uncrop all screens to a single simulation, the changes were reflected to all simulations in the group and sub groups. Can you share your thoughts on this ?
