If Route Map Approver is part of the Comp form, automatically assign to someone else

Hi, I have a Compensation question. So the scenario is, if a Route Map Approver is also one of the users in the Compensation Form, their Approval Step should be automatically skipped or automatically reassigned to someone else. I know this is not the default behavior and so far, I have not found a way to be able to do this. Anyone have any ideas on how this can be done, or if it's at all possible?

The only way I can think of managing this is manually with the "Modify Form Route Map" admin tool that would let you change the route map for a particular form. I can't imagine this is a scenario that comes up a lot, so managing it manually might be feasible.
