Hi,
I need the config guide for eRecruitment Portal.
Can I get the link to where I will be able to download the same.

Ashwini Pingle
Request clarification before answering.
Hi Ashwini,
Almost half of the eRecruitment config is simple. (Ex: The Industries, Currencies, Salary Ranges etc, will appear in the ERC portal for the end user, as you configure them in the tables.) This can be done even by a fresher.
But more than this, it is important to understand ERC specific concepts like:
These concepts of ERC are very volatile and one needs to keep constantly updating himself/herself. What worked with the earlier version of ERC may not work with the new version. So any previously configured document would not be of much use to you.
I sincerely suggest you take time to search about such ERC specific configuration online and go ahead with the latest information.
All the very best!!

Thanks so much Veera for your valuable inputs.
I am relatively new to portal related areas of SAP
This is exactly what I needed. Can you additionally let know if a HCM consultant can do all what you suggested or whether we need to have a developer to do the configuration? Please let know what specific skills required for ERC/portal.

Ashwini Pingle
Hi Ashwini,
Talent Management components are quite different from the routine modules of SAP HCM. Since they have got their own object types, knowledge on them and their relationships with other objects plays a vital role in understanding and implementing the modules. The portal (ESS/MSS) part needs the knowledge on various iViews of ESS. To add to the hardships of an HCM Consultant (kidding...) UI5 came into the picture.
Whether the HCM consultant does the above quoted activities or a developer is needed depends on the project and consultants themselves. When I first implemented ERC, it went on brotherhood. My portal consultant would educate me on various services, train me how to test them. When I first implemented Objective Settings and Appraisals, my ABAPer would find out the tables where the data was getting stored and gave their list. When there were errors in the iDocs, while there was data transfer between ECC and ERC systems, my XI consultant would check what went wrong!
Make it clear to the entire team that you are new to these areas. Be nice to the technical consultants and get their help. You will learn by yourself!
Wish you all the very best!
