Hi,
We're trying to make the not under notice checkbox appear. This is to address situations where people initially entered 99991231 as the end date for a work experience entry; and would now like to update the value.
Initially, this field was deleted from our screen, but we have now restored it (including it's label), but the field still doesn't appear.
Thanks. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hello Richard,
there are two ways to change the configuration of a web dynpro page. One is maintaining the configuration by stating the configuration editor from the SAP GUI development tools. The other one is by doing it directly on the screen using the administrator mode. This can be activated by adding the URL parameter sap-config-mode=X. The configuration is then accessed via right click.
Both concepts are adding up/ stacking to the final display. So check if the fields are set to visible in both.
Kind Regards
Roman

Hi Roman,
After further investigation. We were able to display the hidden object. I found in the application configuration that a compenent configuration was assigned to different components. When i removed the erroneous entries, the box appeared again.
Now my concern is that why was a component configuration assigned to different components. Was this something that could be done in the past (when they implemented Q3~Q4 of 2008)?
I haven't moved forward because I don't know if I will cause more problems in the future by doing this. Can you advice?
Regards,
Richard
Hello Richard,
each component can have its own configuration. I think the configuration of a component is treated as a subobject so the component configuration of different components may have the same name. But there is no use in assigning a component a configuration which is not existing. So it is either an error or someone deleted the component configurations and forgot to cleanup the application configuration.
The only special thing I remember when it comes to web dynpro configuration is in the settings for web dynpro applications using the floor plan manager Framework e.g. Requisition maintenance. Due to the way these applications were implemented for eRec it is important that all usages of views of a certain component get the same configuration assigned even if a certain view was not adjusted. Otherwise the floor plan manager framework will create 2 runtime instances of the component which causes trouble.
Kind Regards
Roman
