How to use same username for Rehire with new employment

Hi team ,

Need help, Rehire with new employment, we need to have keep username same as the old person id.

As per 2835790 - How To Use The Same Username For Rehire With New Employment, we need to Enable Login with Old User Name.

But my question is if I enable "Enable Login with Old User Name", will this update the username field on my new employee profile after the HRIS sync job is runned, and if not, on new employment profile who will I know what is the correct username for him to login.

I cannot try and test, as its mentioned clearing if I activated this feature I cannot disable it.

So please advice.

Hi Renuka,

This feature will not sync the old username to the new employee profile.

However , this feature will allow the user to access the system using the old username.

How?? : When you rehire an employee system linked the old employee profile and new employee profile using personIdEXternal. Also at the Person table the new field 'LoginName ' will be enabled. This field is not exposed for any customization or configuration . SO you will not see this field in the data model.

However on the reset password screen you can see this. System use this field for authentication in addition to the Username field in the UDF.
