I have content developed in STORYLINE 360 that has the number of user quiz attempts set at 3. We want the LMS to mirror this setting and lock the course on the learners 3rd failed quiz attempt.
Is there a setting that we are missing? When we set the failure variable to lock after 3 attempts the learner is actually getting 9 quiz attempts to complete the course?
Request clarification before answering.
Hi Joe/Vicki,
Since the course internally has 3 attempts and when you apply another attempts number at the item level in the LMS, it would get multiplied, giving 9 attempts to the user.
The best recommended approach here would be to set the course attempt (inside the course) as 1 and then LMS level item's attempt number as 3 or you can set the LMS item's attempt number as 1 and at the course level (inside the course), provide a retry attempt of 3 (while you do this make sure the course sends the completion only at the last attempt or at a successful one).
Best Regards,
Sri Vishnu
