How to define structure for table of content in training document?

Hello,

under documentation setting I´ve defined that table of content - Level 4 should be automatically generated in the training document requested by the customer.

Now I am looking for an option to define what is level 1, 2,3,4 as currently there are some duplications displayed.

Thanks for a hint 🙂

Ute

This is generated from a Simulation, correct? As a single document for a single simulation? If so, why do you start with a level 2 heading? (Unless you're going to group these into a Master Document or Compound Document...).

Either way, it looks as though the first 1.1 is coming from the Title. Remove the Fragment that contains this (Probably Fragment 1) in the document definition, and that should prevent that one from appearing (although imho it would look weird).

You 'll still have the second instance of 1.1. (I can't find a way to completely remove this), but if you drop the Heading Level to 1 for the project content in the document definition and set it to take the Headings from Screens your current 1.1 won't have a number, but then each step (screen) will, which will look better. You may need to define the Screen Titles and/or clear the use Title as Heading checkbox for some screens to avoid duplicates, but I find that gives you a bit more control.

Hello Dirk, thanks for that hint, which works partial.

Now it looks as following.

Which setting allows to change this structure from 1.1.1 ff to 1. / 2. / 3. ?

Thanks again,

Ute

If you attached an image it didn't come through, but if you go to the Documentation Settings for the document type, then under Project Content set Heading Level (Single Documents) to 1 that should do it.

In my case it works with Level 0

Thanks a lot 🙂

Hi Ute,

I think in addition to what Dirk wrote you might want to have a look at the document template and the header definitions there. It looks like the document template contains some header instructions that are overwritten by the header macros coming from Producer (1.1.1.).

The word document doesn't recognize that it should start with 2.1.1 so you might have defined a heading level in the Producer that is not being recognized as continuing the level from the word doc template.

Hope that helps + take care,

Kristina

Hello Kristina,

sorry don´t really get what you mean.

These settings I´ve done and based on Dirks hint I´ve deactivated Fragment 1 now.

Which setting do you mean?

Thanks,
Ute

Hi Ute,

I mean the settings in the .dotx templates themselves. In the resources they are located here:

These word templates have text styles that they use and those also have heading number settings. But if Dirk's hints work for you, that's fine.

Take care, Kristina
