How to add leave quota

We have already recorded an annual leave quota for an employee. eg. 30 days to be used and deducted from Jan 1 - Dec 31 2018. Then, there is an approved additional leave quota of 5 days. Should I create a new leave quota of 5 days OR should I add it to 30 days. What is the correct approach to correct the leave quota. Thanks
