Without selecting this option, all published content is visible in SEN.

By selecting this option, the number of searched content is smaller, limited.

It seems that allowing the - "Allow global search in learner view" option "- by machine gives you more possibilities to search than not.

Here it is the opposite.

Not quite. If this option is NOT selected, then when a Learner uses the Search field in the Learner View it will only search through courses that are assigned to them. If this option IS selected it will search all (published) content - in all Workareas they have access to.
