hire data defaulted 1st january 1900

Hello all,

I would like to know why when I import employee data ( BASIC IMPORT) the hire date defaulted in People Profile ( section Employment Details) is 1st January 1900 even though I set hire date in CSV file as 1st August 2023.

Hi Marko,

I'd like to add a little more information to what Jasper mentioned. Once you've imported the employment details file, including the desired hire date, you'll notice that the hire date in the Employment Details section will be updated. If you then choose to export the basic employee data (using the employee export option), you'll observe that the previously listed hire date of 01/01/1900 will now reflect the one you imported in the employment details file. This change is due to the hard-coded synchronization of this field from EC to EP (Employee Profile).

It has to have a default, so that's why its taking 1/1/1900 (as Hire date gets synced from employment info to user, not the other way around). You could try to put an onsave rule on it if it is not preferred that populates a different date, but I doubt that adds much value.
