Help needed integrating 3rd party API with SAP SuccessFactors

Hello. Thanks in advance for any insights...

I have a client using SAP SuccessFactors. We send them csv STATUS reports periodically of their staff working through our training. They would like to automate this - retrieving our report via an API endpoint on our system and ingesting it in to the SAP SF records on their side. they'd then use SF to send reminder emails for people not completing training, and escalate emails to bosses etc. Our side is easy, but could someone give me insight to the work required on THEIR side?

Example:

They hit our endpoint, and receive a JSON array which includes (presumably) a unique ID for each of their staff (which we would need to be storing on our side), and % completion values.

Once they get the JSON data, how do they ingest this data into SuccessFactors' database? is this a custom middleware development effort, or can SAP SF handle this natively without coding?

I'm a developer, but my experience with SAP is limited enough that I'm finding conflicting opinions.

I'm hoping someone here can set me straight so I can talk somewhat intelligently with my client!
