Has anyone experienced this weird issue in SuccessFactors - random name displays as a manager

Hi All,

One of our customer experienced a wired behaviour and took the screenshot strait away. In one of the employee's jobinformation section under Manager/Supervisor, the Manager Name replaced with some random person name who doesn't even exit in any of the customer instances. Surprisingly, the photo still shows the correct Manager photo.

(change audit log and history doesn't show any change)

The issue disappeared after a while. There is a ticket raised to support, would be good to know your experience.

can you give some context?
Where are you observing this behaviour? In EC data or Talent data?
Is EC active at all?
How is data coming into the UDF (or into EC, the error occurs in EC)? Manual capture? Integration (Talent Hybrid) from SAP HCM or from other system? Integration from SAP HCM or other system into a slave-EC?
Is concurrent employment or global assignment active in the instance (even, if not for that person)?

I had a customer with a similar issue, who were using EC as a slave fed by SAP HCM. Because they had concurrent employment active, HRIS synch sometimes mismatched data lines in UDF, so names had bee assigned to wrong users. It was rectified every time a full HRIS synch was running - that could explain why the issue doesn't persist.

But there are so many different possibilities, it's important to understand the full context.

Hi Sven,

It is under EC - Jobinformation section. It is very simple set up with , no global and concurrent employement enabled.no integration to any external system/HCM. UDF is correctly showing the right manager. No changes happen to UDF ro any employee record for the effected user.

The correct manager exists in UDF. Also, the correct Higher level position assigned in Position Managment.
