My client sent me code to add to Career Site Builder for Google Tag Manager. They sent two snippets of code with the following instructions for each code snippet:
- Code Snippet 1: "Copy and paste this snippet in the code of every page of your website, immediately after the <head> element. Don’t add more than one Google tag to each page."
- Code Snippet 2, which is supposed to be used for the Application Thank You Page that the candidate sees after they apply to a position on RMK: "Paste the below snippet in between the <head></head> tags of the page(s) you'd like to track, right after the Google tag."
From what I understand for Google Tag Manager and CSB, all we need is the Google Tag Manager ID and we add that to the Google Tag Manager ID field in CSB -> Site Configuration -> Google Tag Manager ID field. Then we flip the the "Use Google Tag Manager in Career Site Wrapper" toggle to Yes, which adds the Google Tag Manager to the Application Thank You Page as well.
I have added the Google Tag Manager ID to Career Site Builder for the client and flipped the the "Use Google Tag Manager in Career Site Wrapper" toggle to Yes, but the client is saying that the Google tag and conversion pixel are still reading as inactive.
A couple of questions:
- Am I even able to add the code snippets that the client provided into RMK/RCM/SuccessFactors in accordance with how the client instructed (described above)? I am thinking I could add a Custom Component to each page, but I don't think that is going to place the code where they are instructing to place it on the CSB pages..........so, I don't think we can and this would not be an option, right?
- If using the code provided is an option or something that I need to add to CSB for this to work, then how do I go about adding Code Snippet 1 to CSB in accordance with the instructions ("Copy and paste it in the code of every page of your website, immediately after the <head> element. Don’t add more than one Google tag to each page.")? Is it a custom component on each page? Is it added to CSB -> Appearance -> Global -> Java Script?
- If using the code provided by the client is an option or something that I need to add to RCM for this to work, then how do I go about adding Code Snippet 2 to the Application Thank You page in accordance with the instructions ("Paste the below snippet in between the <head></head> tags of the page(s) you'd like to track, right after the Google tag."). I have tried to add this to the Application Thank You screen in Manage Recruiting Settings (similar to what we would do for a pixel), but the code does not save.
Thank you,
