Getting information from Employee Central on SAPUI5 app

Hello experts,

I'm working on a SAPUI5 app, hosted on HCP, that needs to be embedded on Employee Central (SuccessFactors). This app consumes an API and one of the params I have to provide to it is the email of the logged user on Employee Central.

Is there a way to get that info? My idea was to use the User API (https://help.hana.ondemand.com/help/frameset.htm?1de599bf722446849d2b2e10132df42a.html), but this always returns the logged user on HCP and not the one from EC.

I've read things about integration and SSO between EC and HCP, but I haven't found a good resource explaining the process in detail...

Hope someone can guide me here.
