Hi,

I need to generate and pre-populate the new hire's email address field, either during the MPH step or immediately after. Any way to achieve this in IC or via business rules?

Thank you for all help.

Hi  @inepre1

You shall able to active this via business rule itself, follow the below attached screenshot. And you shall able to change the email address based on name or initial of the name.

Add the rule in Navigation path: EC->Admin Tools-> Search for “Manage Business Configuration”-->Emailinfo, under trigger rule set eventtype as "oninit".

Thanks

Arun

One follow up question. Some employees have double first names. Ideally it should be possible to generate a . between those two double names. Is that possible? Instead of FirstnameFirstname@company.com, it should be firstname.firstname@company.com

Hi while setting email address in the format() function, you are already defining the template as %s.%s@domainname.com which will take care of placing "." between the first name and last name

Thank you, but I am not referring to first name and last name. I am referring to scenarios where they have two names in the field for first name.

Hi if the First name is Tom Lin and Last name is Chris, is it expected to create email as tom.lin.chris@companyname.com?

Hi Arun yes that is correct. If the First name is Tom Lin and Last name is Chris, it is expected to create email as tom.lin.chris@companyname.com
