Hi Team,
I tried using "technical parameters" SYNC importing the position template but that creates a new register over those existing in job info, and what we are looking for is something to fulfill the existing events. It is not what we are looking for.
Is it possible to fullfill Job Info fields according to position Fields just by importing the Position as if i was using the Position to Job info on change rule? i tred to trigger it by import but is asking me to fulfill in the template the Legal Entity and other mandatory fields.
Is it possible to get something like this?
Regards

Position sync would normally always create a new record, so that may not be the best thing to use to update existing records. With a regular import in job info (you can technically also use integration center if it's not that much different things to change per employee) you can also choose to not include fields (as the system can then determine them based on the business rule / propagation - assuming you have the permissions to have those applied) or use &&NO_OVERWRITE&& if you want to keep it easy for yourself. With hires you will have less flexibility as there's often times too much to fill out that is not propagated.

if i am not wrong, are you saying that i have to use the import template? Is that the only method? what i meant is if there is a way to propagate Position to Job Info rule or something like that to just import the position field in the Job info template and make it transfer the selected position values to the Job info records?
Regards
Well I think you wouldn't consider manually going the portlet per employee, selecting edit + then repopulating the position + save to update the data.
Then what remains is import (potentially with a lot of &&NO_OVERWRITE&& / removed columns) or you build a job in integration center that would select the correct record, give it a nudge and thereby resync the propagation of position info in the job info record as a regular position update + sync to job info will either do nothing or create a new record (which by the sound of it is not what you want).
Thanks Jasper
it migth seem obvious for your but the core point of my question is if that import you mention (Then what remains is import (potentially with a lot of &&NO_OVERWRITE&& / removed columns) its the typical import that we are already using, which implies the client to write every single business unit, division and all the rest of the fields according to those of the position, or you are stating that i can trigger the Position to Job info on change rule to fullfill those fields by import and it would work?
To summarise the question is this: can i trigger this aforementioned rule by import and it will work or am I doomed to do the job info imports by hand?
Thanks
Well for me it looked like you were looking more for the method, than the details, but based on the above you were more keen to understand the propagation via import (which is indeed possible, granted all the correct setttings are in place - i.e. the permission that allows rules to trigger such as the job to position sync rule). If you wish to have the rule propagate the fields, remove those from the import template (else it thinks you want to keep the old values or make it blank). Just keep in mind that there could always be settings blocking the option with the current configuration (such as the above mentioned), where you may need to swap settings around before doing the actual import.
I am trying to do that but the behaviour is getting strange, it is similar to what is described here
this is the import file: (it seems that the system considers &&NO_OVERWRITE&& the fields of the columns that are not in the file)
The results i get with this permissions enabled:
Enable business rules for selected entitied (job info) and:
(continue in next message as this does not allow me add more atachments in the same post)
I get the desired changes that come from the position on change rule that fullfils Job Info fields for the 06/01/2023 date:
nonetheless, there is an extra record in the file (06/24/2023) that is not getting populated with the Position data fields as the previous line of the file which at least was working:
....
Instead, this record is being completed with the new hire data record that existed previous to the import:
(New Hire event with its corresponding data)
by and large, it looks like i can get to populate just one record but i cannot forward it to the subsequent future job info registers
much like what is described in this kba:
this also subtracts me the possibility to atomatically fill the employee job info fields with the position rule if the template has more than one record.
Looks that it is not that easy as i am encountering many setbacks.
Maybe i am doing something wrong but i share here my experience so far if anyone can confirm that what i am trying is really possible.
Kind Regards.
EDIT: It worked using the Position to Job Info SYNC rule ON SAVE, what I still can't fathom is why on change only changes one record and not the subsequent, that beaviour does not make sense.
