Hi,
I have installed a French (Canada) voice package in my windows. But its not reflecting in TTS dialog box of Producer. Can you please guide me in this?
Request clarification before answering.
Hi Mani,
Not all Windows voices support Text to Speech, some do and some do not. Just because you install a language pack, e.g. Canadian French, does not mean that you can use that language for Text to Speech. The only Windows voices recognized in Producer, and able to be used to generate Text to Speech, are the voices displayed in the Speech Recognition dialogue box. That is a limited set of voices.

Hi Mani,
Many Windows voices do not support Text to Speech and those that do are pretty robotic. My suggestion is that you consider getting a Google Text to Speech account and using that interface instead. Although there is a small cost to using Google Text to Speech, the voices are much better, you have many additional voices that you can use, and these voices support SSML - a language like HTML - that can be used to control out text is read, e.g. to insert silences into the audio. The end result is that the outcome is WAY better.

Shane

What is the setting in your Tools -> Settings -> Authoring Settings -> Audio Voice for Text-to-speech Fallback? by default it goes to Default Windows system. But you can drop the drop arrow and select others you have available.
