Hi How can I create a business rule that inputs any preferred name that is blank id updates formal name for First name last name?

I already have a name format that has preferred name and last name for Formal Name

If there is no preferred name then Formal Name becomes First Name Last Name

This is test information below, while I figure out how to format the rule

This is what I ended up doing in Test and it worked, if there isn't a preferred name it uses the first name and last name and formal name is complete in Manage Data Name format now I add this name format to all legal entities

Hello usernamesap,

Please refer below SAP Blog. It seems it resolve your issue.

https://blogs.sap.com/2020/02/13/name-format-in-successfactors-employee-central/

Below lines from above SAP Blog.

"Name format can be associated with Legal Entity so that based on legal entity & configured name format (assigned at legal entity level) “Formal Name” is auto populated without any manual intervention.

This makes “Formal Name” field value “unique format” based on legal entity/country."

Confirm if it works for you.

This one requires provisioning that is something 3rd parties have.

Do you know of a way of doing this by business rule? If preferred name is empty default to first name?
