First time Enable Now user trying to launch Instant Producer and it is coming up as a PDF file,

I have a first time Enable Now user trying to launch Instant Producer and it is coming up as a PDF file, so it won't launch. I have set up 150 people with IP and never seen this error. Any ideas?

I provide the users with instructions on how to launch IP, but this user is getting a PDF error. She did a screen share and I tried several different fixes, clearing cache, signing out, etc. and the error still came up.

It sounds like she has managed to associate .senl files with Adobe Acrobat. You should be able to fix this by going to Choose default apps by file type in Windows (just search on "File Associations" and you'll get there), then find the .senl entry, click on the current assignment (Acrobat) then navigate to and select the SAP Enable Now Authoring Tool. [This is a Windows issue, because the user was too quick in clicking through the "how do you want to open this file" prompt - not an SEN issue 🙂 ]

If you are using JAVA or SEN app launcher make sure you have that installed. Is it trying to open and .snel or .jnlp file?

.snel = App launcher you can download this from the help menu in the Manager

.jnlp = You will need to download JAVA

Hope that helps

We met at 430 but I was not able to resolve the issue. Today, I created a new username for her, and had her delete/uninstall the Enable Now files that she downloaded yesterday. She mentioned that a popup came up yesterday asking her what app she wanted to use to open the file. That may be where the Acrobat app got attached. I thought if we started fresh perhaps we could dodge the Adobe issue.

So, we were on Teams and I watched the process on her screen. We checked the box in server settings, downloaded the Enable Now Launcher and it launched. She then went back to Manager and clicked on Instant Producer. She opened the file, and even with a .senl file type, it came up as Adobe again. I am attaching a screen shot.

Hi Jesse

We were using the App Launcher. I verified the check box was checked in settings, and then had her launch the app. I believe the file had the .snel but it was coming up with the Adobe icon and then got an Adobe error message. Before she called me she said she tried to open IP and she got that pop up box that asks "what application do you want to open this with" and she must have selected Adobe.

I have a skype call with her at 430 today and may have her delete the files from machine and then set her up as a new user so she can start over. Unless you have any other ideas. thanks
