Fiori Time Sheet V3 use of Assignments

Hello all,

i'm currently testing Fiori Time Sheet V3 in our test environment to ensure that the functionality provided meets our business needs. We are currently at this following SP levels

Fiori Frontend: UIH R002 100 SP 08

ECC Backend: GBX01HR5 605 SP12,

i'm encountering numerous issues with the use of Assignments that i find it very difficult to understand how clients can proceed to use this functionality given all the bugs we are encountering, The recommendations and notes provided by SAP have addressed one issue however it ends up creating more issues. I'm not sure if it is because of our technical environment . I would like to know if any of you out there have experienced similar problems.

Below is an example of the issues we are encountering :

- There is no validation of the fields when an assignment is created. One would expect that the there would be a check to ensure that the field such as Premium, PS Group, Premium Number, Activity Type would have a validation built into them so that the User would not be able to choose fields that are not applicable to the employees. Personnel Subarea groupings.

- Saved assignments eventhough they have valid from and to dates remains greyed out as if they are inactive.

- Upon trying to save an assignment, an error message would pop up stating that there is an error and the assignment record cannot be saved however it does not provide you with any detail of the nature of the error.

I cannot really answer your question, but rather suggest to try the V2 version of the app instead.

We've been struggling with the app due to similar issues you you mentioned for about half a year. Assignments not getting validated, random error messages appeared without proper explanation, data saved inconsistently. SAP notes caused more trouble than fixes. After getting tired of playing ping-pong with the support we ended up with our own customer side fixes to make the app moderately usable. Its even not perfect today, but most of the time it works at least.

After thinking about the use-cases the classic timesheet supported I am not even sure that everything can be covered by the assignment concept. I have a feeling it was designed focusing on the simplest of use-cases.
