Event trigger on post save, when LOA is entered in Job information portlet

Hello!

We have a requirement to trigger an ISC event whenever a Leave of Absence (LOA) or Return to Work (RTW) entry is made in the Job Information portlet.

Currently, the Leave Admin enters the LOA on behalf of the employee, which immediately sets the leave request to an Approved status. Because the request does not transition from Pending to Approved, the business rule is not triggered as expected.

Here’s a breakdown of the process:

  1. Leave Admin enters the LOA directly for the employee, setting the request to Approved.
  2. This action creates an LOA event in the Job Information portlet.
  3. Expected Behavior: A business rule should trigger on the post-save event based on changes in the Job Information model.
  4. Expected Outcome: The business rule should initiate an ISC event.
  5. Once triggered, the ISC event should send the required data to CPI via Integration Center.

Challenge: Since the LOA is entered directly in an approved state, the usual status transition that triggers the business rule does not occur.

Do you have any suggestions or workarounds to ensure the business rule and ISC event are triggered correctly in this scenario?

Any inputs or suggestions are greatly appreciated!
