End-User choosing Simulation mode

Hi Community,

I don't know if this is possible, but I am trying to give my end-users the chance to decide if they want to take the demo mode or practice mode on the first step of the simulation, and create two "links/buttons" to select from to drive them there.

The few challenges I am finding is that only specific objects trigger the screen to pause for a set duration (i.e. Explanation bubbles, Actions, Text pop-ups, etc.) and I was trying to use an explanation bubble to accomplish this, however the "control" button that moves a user forward in the simulation is always going to appear for any slide that has a set duration of "-1", and I do not want my end-users to simply continue, rather select the mode they want to proceed with. But if I don't have my step display duration set to "-1" then there is a time limit to when the user has to answer before it progresses.

Is there a way I can accomplish this for my end-users so they are not forced into a particular mode?

Best,

Andrew

Using the Explanation bubble, you could give your user a choice of two links with the Plus control in the HTML Editor.

One would be a link where you would pick the Workarea -> Project -> specific other mode in the Insert Link dialog box.

The other would be a step link - In that link you would select the specific step you wish to continue with in the original mode.

SAP Enable Now is pretty flexible. There are other options - including creating a book page with the links and importing it as a screen macro.

I think creating a bookpage and importing as a screen macro is perfect. Thank you!

The way a simulation launches includes the mode it launches in. You can observe this in the URL. So the simulation you start is already in a chosen mode. The most you could do is offer a link to the other mode than the one you are in...

A way many customers offer a choice is with a book page in a book - offering both links on the page. Then your user would only be seeing the mode they select.

Thank you Susan. I am going to try to link in the practice mode into the demo mode, since that is the mode I have my user start with by default. Is there a particular object I can use to link those? Explanation bubble would continue demo mode, so I cannot use that in particular. I would use an "Intro Page" and attach a "text link" if I could design my own version, but I can only find the "Golden Reflection" as my only Style option. Is there any options to customize an "Intro Page"? Thanks!
