Enable SAP Companion in SAP Concur - SAP Enable Now

Hi,

We would like to create custom content with the SAP Companion in SAP Concur.

To do so, I have first created a configuration in the Manager according to the SAP integration Guide for SAP Concur and, then, created a support ticket for SAP Concur to activate the SAP Companion for this configuration.

However, I’m not sure that this procedure has worked:

There is an “Explore Interactive Help” button in Concur that seems to open a SAP Companion with some helps, but I don’t know I this button was already present, and I don't find the pencil I’m used to see when I want to edit some SEN content in FIORI.

I should precise that I have an author role in the Workarea ID specified in my configuration and I tried also to add the &help-editor=true parameter without success.

As a test, I tried also to change the colors for the SAP Companion in my configuration. The colors of the SAP Companion I see with the “Explore Interactive Help” button do not seem to change.

So, I have several questions:

  • Is there some “default” SAP Companion enabled in Concur? And is this SAP Companion I’m currently seeing in my Concur instance?
  • If I change some parameters in my configuration, will these new parameters be taken into account? More generally, is it possible to adjust later some parameters in an initial configuration that has been enabled?
  • Does the SAP Companion editor in Concur looks like the same as in FIORI Launchpad? As in FIORI, do we have to use the &help-editor=true to edit the content?

Kind regards,

Emmanuel

Hi Emmanuel,

Firstly, SAP Companion in Concur should look exactly the same as SAP Companion in Fiori because it's the same code that provides the SAP Companion interface and functionality.

SAP Companion must be turned on in Concur; individual customers must request that this done.

I have seen Concur systems with the menu that you mention but it is another DAP, not SAP Companion.  Did you request that SAP Companion be turned on by generating the link to your SAP Companion configuration in Manager and adding it to a Concur support ticket with the type User Assistant / Tools.  Make sure that you include the URL of your SAP Companion configuration in the ticket and list the Concur systems(s) that it should be turned on in.

It's not wise to turn on the SAP Companion editor within the SAP Companion configuration in Manager, particularly once that configuration is used in a Production system, but as a test to see if it really is Companion, turn on the editor within the configuration in Manager and then refresh Concur.  If it is your configuration, the pencil should appear.

Hope this helps.

Regards
Shane
