Employee Central Time Management Time Off Balance Value

Hi

I need help on SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central, specifically the Time Management. Currently our system shows the users available annual leave in days as a numerical value in the Time Management Block/Portlet.

When a user books annual leave the numerical value does not decrease until the booked date has passed. i.e. if the user is given 20 days annual leave to use for 2022 and on 01/01/2022 they book 5 days off between 01/06/2022 and 05/06/2022, the time off balance will not change to 15 days until 06/06/2022.

I would need the balance to change to 15 as soon as the annual leave is booked/approved. Effectively I need the system to carry out the following equation and display the value ((booked annual leave + taken annual leave) - yearly annual leave allowance = available bookable annual leave).

Is this possible?

Thanks

Tom

Hi Tom,

You cannot reflect the future dated bookings effect on the time account immediately. Time Account are ledger based with effective dating.

However what you can do is control the absence deductions from entitlement looks at future date bookings.

There is field in Time Type - Balance Calculation Setting Can be used.

Help Notes: The Consider Bookings Until Calculation Date setting includes all positive and negative bookings until the as of date. The Consider Bookings After Calculation Date setting considers all bookings until the corresponding calculation date as well as negative bookings after that date. In this case, those negative bookings will also be offset against simulated or posted positive bookings if possible. For further details, please take a look at the field description in the Time Off implementation guide.

Regards

Sanjay

Hi Sanjay,

Thank you, as long as I have clarification that it can not be done then that is perfect.

I have followed your 'Help Notes' and the settings that you recommended have already been put in place.

Many Thanks

Tom
