Employee Central : Next Pay Grade Pay Ranges?

Hi Team,

I hope everyone is doing well!
I was wondering if it would be possible to display the pay ranges for the next level pay grade in EC, specifically in the position object field. This would allow for two pay range fields to be visible in an employee's profile (or position), one for their current pay range and one for their next level pay range, and then have them reflected in the compensation worksheet.

For example, if an employee's current job grade is 10, their pay range for grade 10 would be displayed in the "Current Pay Range" field while the pay range for grade 11 would be displayed in the "Next Level Pay Range" field.

Could you please provide more guidance on how we can implement this customize setup in SuccessFactors - EC, please?

Below is the screenshot of what I've setup in our dev instance. However, the next pay range field doesn't capture the correct range according to the "Next Job Grade" field.

Your support and guidance on this would be highly appreciated!

Kind regards,
Art Awa

Dear artchester18,

The standard payRange is a transient field. This means that the field value is calculated on the fly and it will never be stored in the database. With that I don't think your requirement is possible, because if you are looking to default the next pay range based on a field that is not storing the data, but being generated on the fly, how a business rule would retrieve this info.

All details about the pay range set up can be found in this KBA.

The only possible thing that comes to my mind now is to maintain a custom MDF, with the ranges and their next values, so you can retrieve this info from the table, instead of the standard field which does not store the info. Of course that this will require manual effort to keep this table updated.

I hope this helps!

Thank you.

Best Regards,

Karen Perez
