Dear Customer,

Thank you for the information in detail.

I understand you would like to edit hire record via incremental load import. But It is not possible to do that as error message "There is already a hire record for user tsmith. You cannot create another hire record if one already exists.," will pop up. I hope this explanation helps.

Best regards,

Hannah

Hi Hannah and everyone,
It is actually possible to edit a specific record via incremental import. In your import template csv file, you need to identify the record by providing the effective start date and sequence number, as well as the userId. This will result in an update of the record with this business key instead of creating a new record.
Best, Janina

Dear Customer, based on the advise provided by JaninaHornig, I tested in sap demo system and confirmed that it is possible to edit hire record via imcremental load import. But please make sure in imported file, seq-number is set as 1, then it is able to import. If seq-number is empty, then error will reports.

Hello, does this means i can upload a file with the sequence number, the new hire event reason, one field updated and effective start date, and it's going to be updated, because an error message says that mandatory fields are missing

Dear Customer,

Thank you for your feedback.

Yes it means you can upload a file with the sequence number “1”, the new hire event reason, one field updated and effective start date, and it's going to be updated.

If in your instance, error message says that mandatory fields are missing, then please download the standard template and maintain all the mandatory fields in the imported file, then do import. If it is still NOT able to import, please consider raising an incident to the LOD-SF-EC team via SAP For Me. Our Employee Central colleagues will be able to assist you and provide possible workarounds.

Best regards,

Hannah

Hello Hannah, thank you for your response, please I want to edit the first record of employee (the hire record) but without purging other records, which means if an employee has 3 records, I want only to edit the first record by import
