In our company there is in analisis the use of ECP as payroll system. We're analizing the integration options between this payroll system(as fas as we know is an HCM payroll system in a cloud environment) and our SAPS4 with the FI module. We've analized the SAP documentation and it seems that the only posibility for this integration is via direct connection using SNC. Our security team is not very happy with this sort of point to point integration, it goes against our approach of ussing middlewares (CPI, SAP PI) for SAP integrations.
As far as we know in ECP some iDocs are generated and sent to de FI system for payroll posting. We suppose that a direct connection enables certain previous bapi calls between this systems. In this way the IDoc can be validated before it is sent. As SAP mention its the standard way and there is no other.
But we are evaluating the option of sending this iDocs via a middleware (https), so we can translate the validations to the target system. In this alternative the RFC calls are not necesary (SNC connection) and we can use a middleware that is accesible via https from a cloud system (ECP). Have you deal with a similar scenario? If so we appreciate your comments.
