EC Payroll Archiving

Customer is looking for understanding on suggested best practices for archiving payroll data.  How to make sure EC Payroll stays in sync with EC when records are archived and basic set up and understanding of where archived data should sit for EC Payroll.  Do we have documentation to share with a customer about these things?

Majority of the customers who moved to EC Payroll 5 to 10 years back are having the above questions due to ever growing DB size.

So far I too haven't found much info in SAP portal on an end to end doc on archiving and purging of data generated in ECP(like time eval and pay results, fi postings) would be keen to know if you manage to get some. In the meanwhile you could explore reading through blogs related to SAP ILM which gives insights to archiving in ECP lined  with internal and external storage systems but many questions still unanswered. I have done some test runs as part of poc but couldn't proceed further due to lack of clarity on the storage options of archived data.

Regarding the employee master data in EC that replicates to ECP you should explore options of purging data in EC based on your org/customer archiving strategy. Historical purged data would automatically be erased from ECP during replication(haven't tested though). Do share your observations if you get some leads on this.
