Dear All,
We are performing a upgrade for a client from ECC5.0 to ECC6.0 EhP6.
While trying to perform Search (Job Search) under eRec on the upgraded system, following error is displayed:
"An internal error occurred. Please try again later. "
Below is the error log:
Would appreciate any pointers toward the possible cause and hopefully probable resolution .
TIA!
Cheers,
Rahul
Request clarification before answering.
Hello Rahul,
There is one report RCF_CHECK_SEARCH_SETTINGS which points to different areas within E-Rec in regards with correct setup of KPro, SES, Services, Profiles, Templates etc...
Running this report will be quick guide of what all needs correction.
Hope this helps.
Regards,
Sarvesh Hasija

Hi Sarvesh,
Thanks for your response!
Below is the output of report:
Message no. STREX005
A service of the TREX search engine was called. An RFC connection to the gateway is required for this, but the connection could not be established. As a result, the TREX services cannot currently be used.
Contact your system administrator.
Check the RFC connection "TREXH10_REG" using transaction SM59 (TCP/IP communication).
Error occurred during RFC connection: "timeout during allocate / CPIC-CALL: 'ThSAPCMRCV'"
Also based on suggestions from other post, executed SKPR07 and below is the output:

Resolution:
Dianosed with RCF_CHECK_SEARCH_SETTINGS.
The issue was resolved by Basis team by creating new RFC connection which got missed as part of the upgrade.

Hello
can you check in IMG "Define Search Profile Types" in the e-rec search customizing. If you go there is a column "Business Object". Please check that this column is not empty.
The SAP note 1301016.
Also check the report RCF_CHECK_SEARCH_SETTINGS.
---
Check the following
Call transaction SPRO and navigate to the IMG activity "Activate Periodic Services". Make sure that the entry "INDEX_DOCUMENTS" and the "DISPATCH_CPOINTER_FOR_*" entries exist. The "CREATE_SP_FOR_*"
entries should not exist.
DELETE_DEREGISTERED_CANDIDATES
DELETE_REQUISITION
DISPATCH_CPOINTER_FOR_CAND
DISPATCH_CPOINTER_FOR_CDCY
DISPATCH_CPOINTER_FOR_DOC
DISPATCH_CPOINTER_FOR_PUB_EXT
DISPATCH_CPOINTER_FOR_PUB_INT
DISPATCH_CPOINTER_FOR_REQ
PROCESS_CAND_STATUS_CHANGE
PUBLICATION_VIA_XI
These entries should be there. Then this error will not come.
Cheers
Vijay
