E-Rec: Correct approach to expose ECC Server for E-Recruitment

Dear All,

We are ready for E-Recruitment Go-live. I have done all necessary configuration in ECC & Webdynpro viz External Candidate Registration, External Candidate Startpage, profile etc & its working fine in DEV & PRD Server (Portal).

Till now I am testing it via T-code SICF and then going to respective service and then calling "Test Service". Now we have to Go-live but i have a doubt regarding exposing of our ECC-PRD over internet. We are going to provide External Candidate Registration, External Candidate Startpage, etc URL in our company careers website page. Is it a correct way to do or not. I do not have any idea how to do it?

After some research,I found that it can be done either by Web dispatcher or EP-Portal.So please suggest which is more secure and appropriate approach.

If there is some other way also then please let me know.

Please guide me how to do it and what should be necessary configuration so that Candidate registration can be done over internet without exposing our ECC-Production server.

Hi Deepak,

This is more of a BASIS person's job.

What is necessary here is that you mask your erec URL ...bc/webdynpro/sap/HRRCF*.

To mask your URl's you can use the HTTPURLLOC table if you have reverse proxy capabilities on your dispatcher.

So, the end user will see a different URL than the original one.

However, I know of many customers from different implementations who are exposing the e-rec URL's directly to the internet and i don't remember of any security concerns/issues.
