Hi,
We are making use of dynamci breaks. The break gets deducted when an employee works more than 5.5 hours.
Gaps in working time are counted towards break time.
Currently if the employee takes a 15 minute before (5.5 hours into his shift) the dynamci break deducts the additional 15 minutes correctly.
However, when an employee takes their 30 minute break after 5.5 hours into their shift, the shift automatically deducts the full 30 minutes (even though he has a gap of 15 minutes in his working time). This is not correct.
So if the 15 minute break is taken before 5.5 hours into the shift the system is behaving as expected and deducting a dynamic break of only 15 minutes, however, this is not the case if the 15 minute break is taken after the 5.5 hous. How do I prevent the full 30 minutes being deducted, if 15 minutes have been taken after 5.5 hours into the shift?breaks
Thanks,
Manon

Hello Manon,
I believe this is expected system behavior. In the first example you provided, the employee is working from 8 until 1pm, thus 5 hours, and then, since there are 15 mins are unaccounted for (1-1:15)before the break can be applied, even if he works from 1:15 to 1:45 so he would have the extra 30 mins required to get the break, he's only getting 15 mins break instead of 30 mins (because the unrecorded 15 mins are deducted). In the second example however, when he has worked from 8 until 1:30pm he has already completed 5 hours and a half (uninterrupted), so he becomes eligible for a 30min break between 1:30 and 2, and the system is disregarding that after this threshold there are those 15 mins unaccounted for (between 2 and 2:15). From what I've checked, the validation related to the gaps in working times is applied before the break, not after.
