Duplicate field is appearing in the Custom Object without config change

Hi,

We have encountered a peculiar problem of Duplicate field appearance in the Custom MDF without making any changes to the Object Configuration or UI. The field started to appear post January 10th. No patch update has happened during that time for SF. Can any one please suggest any method to overcome this issue? or atleast on what basis this duplication occurs. This has come up in our overseas deputation object for only one of the components. Rest others are working fine.

Please any one can help on this or if u have faced any such situation kindly share.

Thank you Kayla. However, we havent maintained in the default screen UI and none of the groups are empty. Yet, when we receive teh data, one additional field is showing up only in the UI. Reports and all are working correct except for the UI. Even in Manage Data we are getting that duplicate field.
