Hello,
I’ve been reviewing the following official resources related to SAP SuccessFactors Talent Intelligence Hub and its AI-based skill inference capabilities from Continuous Performance Management (CPM) data:
Demo video:
https://sapvideo.cfapps.eu10-004.hana.ondemand.com/?entry_id=1_hcv94fy5
Help Portal:
https://help.sap.com/docs/successfactors-platform/using-talent-intelligence-hub/recommending-skills-...
I have a few questions regarding the actual behavior and implementation details, and I’d greatly appreciate any clarification or insights from the community.
Based on the resources above, I understand that AI can recommend skills based on data from the achievements, activities, or feedback sections of Continuous Performance Management. I’d like to confirm if there are any other reference materials or important considerations that users should be aware of regarding this functionality.
It’s also stated that external skill catalogs such as O*NET and ESCO are used to support skill inference. I understand this to be true at least conceptually, but I’d like to better understand to what extent these catalogs are actually used in current implementations—for example, whether they are directly matched during inference, or used only for classification or reference.
My main question is: When a new skill is inferred by the AI, is only the skill name (i.e., the identifier in the attribute library) added, or does the system also automatically populate other metadata—such as definitions, descriptions, or behavioral indicators—based on external catalogs like ESCO?
I have not been able to find concrete information on whether full skill profiles are auto-generated or only the label is suggested.
Request clarification before answering.
