Document Generation Inquiry

Hi,

Could you please let me know if it's possible to create a document that can be used like an application form, where employees can enter text and have it submitted through a workflow for approval…is this possible using the Document generation feature?

Workflow:

Creator = Employee

First approver = manager

Second approver = HR

Third approver = specified user

Generally you'd use a portlet for that, not a document (as document generator is pretty much the only standard SuccessFactors one that in my understanding. It unfortunately doesn't have such parameter options). If you create a custom MDF with the right fields and put a workflow behind that on that people profile, wouldn't that serve the use case as well then (if needed in the end you can of course report on each field anyway)?
