Displayed help content depending on Business Role in Fiori

Hi.

We are currently considering using SAP Companion in a S/4 Fiori Launchpad.

We already have SAP Enable Now content available (training sessions for different business processes and different business roles).

We would like to know if there is a possibility to adapt the content provided depending on the user's business role ?

One use case : we have training contents for Sales Order processing (Simulations, eLearning content, PDF documents, or videos) depending on end-users business role. So we would like to push training content relevant to the user’s business role, instead of having him/her scroll or search for the content relevant to him/her.

If this is not possible at this time, is this something SAP is planning to do in a next release ?

Thanks you.

Hi Sylvain,

Yes you will need to use the approach that uses the Web Dispatcher because that provides the ability to create different catalogs that can each point to a different Workarea; each catalog can be assigned to a different group of users. The instructions to configure SAP Companion using the Web Dispatcher are located in chapter 11.2 of SAP Companion Integration Instructions manual.

Regards
Shane

This is for SAP Companion? Yes, possible, but you would need to have tge content in separate workareas, have separate Fiori catalogs for each role, and assign access to those catalogs to the individual roles.

If you mean in the Trainer, not currently, but you can just distribute URLs to the relevant section of the structure, so users will only see the content that is applicable to them.

Hi Dirk,

Thank you for your time.

On S/4 Fiori side, we do have different Business Catalogs assigned to our different Business Roles.

You say we could create different workareas. Fine, but how do you link a workarea to a given Business Role ? This is the part I am not getting.

Thanks for your clarification.

So the Fiori Catalog(s) for SAP Enable Now points to a specific Workarea, and the Roles provide access to a specific Catalog. So each role is effectively accessing a separate Workarea.

Ok I think I get it now.

For now, we activated the Web Assistant globally, via FLP plug-in WEB_ASSISTANT_HELP_PLUGIN. So we can only specify here 1 workarea.

What you are saying is that we have to activate the web-assistant via target mapping/business catalog instead (as per https://help.sap.com/docs/SAP_S4HANA_ON-PREMISE/cdc25c83b63e482586b31b8acd49cf2f/17319656c4253e23e10..., and then we can have different target mapping pointing to different workareas in SEN.

Is that correct ?
